The Volkswagen Scirocco has achieved popularity in the International car market following its launch in the 2008 Geneva Auto show and it will be available in the Indian market in 2010. This two door hatchback has a strong muscular design and was initially based on the Golf platform. The car is a combination of excellent design and superior performance.

The Volkswagen Scirocco review reflects that the exteriors of the car take inspiration from the Volkswagen Golf design. The car comes equipped with three engine options. The basic engine is the 1.4L TSI petrol engine and this can deliver power of 158 bhp. The second option is 2.0L TSI petrol engine and the car is also available with 2.0L TDI diesel engine while can deliver power of 138 bhp.

The length of the car is 4188mm and its width is 1765mm while its height is 1358mm. The car has power steering with front and rear disk brake system. The car has 5 manual gears and its kerb weight is 1383 kgs.

The car is expected to return mileage of around 15 to 20 km/litre.

The car has a low and sporty stance but this means less leg as well as head room in the back. The leathers seats provide good lumbar support and the driver’s seat can be adjusted electronically. The seats have automatic heating option and the car has air conditioner with dual zone climate control feature.

Safety has always been extremely important in Volkswagen cars and the Volkswagen Scirocco has several safety features. These features include front, curtain and side airbags and the car also has electronic stability control feature. The car has adaptive chassis control feature which can be operated in three modes and these include normal, sport and comfort mode. Every mode alters the steering assistance level, throttle response and damper rates so as to deliver smooth riding experience in different conditions. Movable head restrains reduce whiplash possibility in the event of rear end collision. It is not know how many of these features would be present in the car launched in the Indian market.

The price of the car is around Rs 30 to Rs 32 lakhs. The car is available in two design variations and these include Scirocco 2.0T and Scirocco V6

The body colors in which the car will be available are not known as yet.
