Volkswagen Up Review


Volkswagen is a Germany based automobile company and it will soon be launching the Volkswagen Up. This car is based on the new small family concept and will be launched in Indian market around 2010 end. The car was initially launched in the Frankfurt Motor show in 2007 and when it is launched in India it will be amongst the cheapest cars in the market.

Volkswagen Up Specification
The company will be producing around 1 lakh vehicles for the first year. This car will be directly competing with the offerings of Hyundai as well as Maruti Suzuki. The Volkswagen Up review indicates that the car is expected to come with 1200cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine and this will be able to deliver maximum output of 90 bhp.
The car has 5 manual gears and comes equipped with front disk and rear drum brake system. The length of the car is 3450mm and its width is 1630mm. The car can seat 4 individuals quite comfortably. The car does not have power steering.

The car claims to be able to deliver mileage of 30 km/litre.

The interiors of the car have been designed so as to ensure that they match up to the exterior design. The car has 2 monitor screens and the first monitor is an 8 inch monitor which displays fuel level as well as range, CO2 emission and vehicle speed. The second monitor is a 7 inch one and this one displays details of radio volume, photos, movies, music, navigation and telephone. The car has air conditioner with climate control and leather seats are optional. The seating is ergonomically designed and like a self inflating mattress the air in the seat surface can be sucked out through a valve and so adjustment of seats can be done as per the body anatomies of occupants.
Volkswagen Up Safety features
The safety features in the car include airbags, fog lamp, parking sensors, anti lock brake system and electronic brake force distribution feature.
Volkswagen Up Price and design variations
The price of the car is expected to be Rs 3.5 to Rs 5 lakhs. The car will be available in a single design variation.
Volkswagen Up Colors
The colors in which the car will be available are not known as yet.
